Identify the procedure before translating the documents

A vocational qualification, school certificate and university degree do not automatically go through the same assessment procedure. Establish the responsible recipient first. Its instructions identify the certificates, subject lists and other records that need translating.

We help with the language preparation of your documents. Recognition or assessment of the qualification is decided by the responsible organisation. Applications through uni-assist or directly to a university follow their own document requirements; we do not act as an admissions intermediary.

Preserve subjects, grades and training periods

Supply complete subject and grade lists with any explanation of the grading system. The translation reflects those details. Grade conversion, qualification evaluation and replacement of missing training records are separate from the translation assignment.

Education records you may need to prepare

Diplomas and university records

The diploma, degree certificate and accompanying transcript may be separate documents. Assemble the selection the recipient requests.

An English-language or multilingual certificate does not require an additional translation for every recipient. Check the applicable instructions first.

Prepare these details for your enquiry

  • The recognition body or university and its current document checklist.
  • Complete readable files of the requested certificates, transcripts and attachments.
  • The required language direction, personal-name spelling and instructions about originals or copies.
  • The submission deadline and requirements for certification, paper copies or file formats.

From your documents to the right translation

  1. Confirm requirements and documents

Check the recipient’s instructions and specify the document type, languages and all required pages.

  2. Review the estimate

Check the scope and details. Provide personal-name spellings, deadlines and additional certification instructions.

  3. Complete your order

Proceed after reviewing your information. The initial estimate alone does not place an order.

Questions about translations for qualification recognition

Which documents should I have translated?

The responsible recognition body or university decides. Send its checklist so we can identify the certificates, transcripts and attachments included in the assignment.

Can I use a translation prepared in my home country?

Ask the recipient which translator qualifications and place of issue it accepts. Requirements can differ between procedures.

Does translation make my qualification recognised?

No. The translation is supporting documentation for the procedure. Recognition, equivalence and university admission are decided by the responsible organisation.

Does an English certificate need translating into German?

That depends on the recipient. Some organisations accept particular languages directly. Check the applicable rule before ordering additional work.

Can you translate documents for uni-assist?

We can prepare the requested documents based on the translation instructions you provide. Check the current requirements of uni-assist and the university. Applications and submission remain with the relevant organisations, not with us.

Gather your certificates and instructions
