What do traduzione giurata and asseverazione mean in Italy?
Italian certification terms cannot be resolved simply by adding a German seal. Establish which format the Italian recipient requires.

The short answer
Asseverazione refers to sworn confirmation of a translation through a designated procedure. Milan’s courts, for example, describe an oath before the court office and local requirements for those taking part. Ask the recipient whether your submission requires this route or accepts another translation format.
Plan translation and sworn confirmation separately
Translation renders the content. An additional confirmation procedure concerns the required official format. List both requirements separately where your Italian checklist requests a traduzione giurata.
The published Milan guidance is a local procedural example. Do not assume its rules for participants, appointments or records apply unchanged to another court or receiving office.
Establish the source version and attachments
Record the original language, target language and all available attachments. If authentication is required, coordinate the sequence with its issuer before the final translation is prepared.
For an existing translation, first ask whether the recipient accepts it. An additional certification cannot simply be replaced by attaching pages yourself or adding your own note.
Expressly agree an available issuing route
Send the Italian recipient’s instructions to discuss available options. A free initial translation estimate does not automatically include a court appointment or asseverazione.
Clarify participants, output format and any further appointments before fixing your submission plan. Retain the final version together with its sources and confirmations.
