Which document needs translating to prove sole custody?
A birth certificate, custody order and travel consent do not establish the same things. Start with the evidence the recipient actually requests.

The short answer
Establish whether a court order, custody declaration or certificate from the custody register is needed. The federal portal describes negative certificates for particular cases without the relevant register entry. Translation renders the evidence supplied; it does not itself decide custody rights or overseas acceptance.
Identify the document type clearly first
Save the recipient’s exact wording. Before commissioning, match a general request for “proof of custody” to an actual record you hold.
A youth-welfare office certificate and a court order arise through different procedures. Ask the competent authority which record evidences your situation and whether an updated version is required.

Gather the order, attachments and matching names
For court records, provide all connected pages and existing confirmations. Identify the requested scope rather than independently omitting sections you consider unimportant.
Have official spellings for the child and parents available. A supporting certificate can help match names but does not automatically replace expressly requested custody evidence.
Clarify travel, visas and other uses separately
State the country, recipient and purpose of your enquiry. Travel consent is a different document from official evidence of how parental custody is allocated.
Clarify translation format and any authentication separately with the recipient. Then agree the complete source and target language before ordering additional confirmations or issued copies.
