Translations for mechanical engineering

From equipment descriptions to spare-parts catalogues, we help engineering businesses translate technical content for customers, service teams and internal users. Your project files provide the basis for agreeing the language direction, document versions and specialist terms.

Technical documents for their intended users

A maintenance team, an operator and a purchasing department use technical information in different ways. Explain who will read the translation and which equipment it concerns. A project may span mechanics, controls, electrical systems and production processes.

Assignments can cover individual files or a connected documentation set. Our manuals page provides further preparation guidance for operating and maintenance instructions. Translating documentation does not replace testing the equipment or assessing conformity.

Keep terminology, part numbers and references connected

Supply previous translations, component terminology and clearly identified versions. State which product names, identifiers, units and software labels must remain unchanged. Include text embedded in illustrations in the project scope.

Typical engineering documents

Data sheets and drawing text

Provide text fields, tables, units and illustration labels in an editable form where possible.

Spare-parts and service information

Part numbers, component names and their relationship to equipment ranges should be clear in the supplied files.

For complex layouts, we agree which text and file preparation tasks are included before work starts.

Prepare your technical translation brief

  • The machine, model range, sector, readers and required language direction.
  • Current editable files and a reference PDF showing the intended structure.
  • Approved terminology, abbreviations, earlier translations and identifiers that must remain unchanged.
  • The chapters, graphics and output formats needed, plus your requested delivery date.

Start your specialist translation

  1. Provide files and languages

Select the service and language direction and describe the specialist subject, length and intended use.

  2. Review price and requirements

Check the initial estimate and specify your deadline, output formats and particular instructions.

  3. Complete the order deliberately

Continue through the ordering process when the details and conditions suit your assignment.

Questions about mechanical engineering translations

Can you translate a complete documentation set?

We can review connected document packages. Supply a current file list and identify the chapters, appendices and image labels included in the assignment.

Can we specify technical terms and product names?

Yes. Provide approved terms and identify names or codes that must stay unchanged. Reference images or drawings help resolve questions about components.

Is a PDF enough to start?

A readable PDF is useful for an initial review. Editable text or layout files are often better for production. Identify scanned content and text embedded in images separately.

How should we submit an updated manual?

Provide the current source, the previous translation and a list of changes. We can then agree which passages and connected references need updating.

Does translation certify machinery conformity?

No. The translation assignment concerns the language of the agreed documents. Technical approvals, product testing and conformity assessment are separate tasks.
