Spoken-language needs and preparation: Montenegrin
Please confirm Montenegrin as the required language and list any other discussion languages separately. For meetings with Serbian-, Bosnian- or Croatian-speaking participants, we clarify their preferences rather than assuming a suitable combination.

Which interpreting format do you need?
The format depends on the conversation, number of participants and schedule. A qualification required for an official appointment is an additional requirement, rather than a separate interpreting technique.
Consecutive and liaison interpreting
The interpreter speaks after short sections of speech. Allow pauses and additional time for discussions, negotiations, speeches or ceremonies. In liaison interpreting, the language direction changes as participants take turns.
Request a consecutive interpreterSimultaneous interpreting
Contributions are interpreted almost as they are spoken. For conferences or larger events, we discuss the schedule, duration, interpreting team and technical equipment using your event plan. Agree these arrangements before the appointment.
Request a simultaneous interpreterCourt, authority and notarial appointments
Ask the specific institution what sworn status or other evidence the interpreter needs. Share its invitation, language requirements and instructions so we can check suitable qualifications and availability for your enquiry.
Request a court interpreterOn site or by video conference?
Provide the venue and address or your proposed video platform. For remote attendance, we discuss microphones, sound quality, turn-taking and how the interpreter joins. We check the format’s suitability for your event; official appointments remain subject to the institution’s requirements.
What to include in your interpreting enquiry
- Languages and interpreting directions, regional varieties and participants’ language preferences.
- Date, starting time, time zone, expected duration and breaks.
- Venue and address or video platform, number of participants and speaking arrangements.
- Occasion, subject, agenda, names, presentations and key terminology.
- For a court, authority or notary: the invitation and the institution’s specific interpreter requirements.

About in a languageInterpreting: frequently asked questions
What is the difference between interpreting and translation?
Interpreting transfers spoken contributions during a discussion or appointment. Translation concerns written text. If you also need a written or certified translation, include it as a separate service in your enquiry.
Do I need consecutive or simultaneous interpreting?
With consecutive interpreting, participants pause after sections of speech for the interpreter. Simultaneous interpreting happens almost at the same time and needs suitable equipment and staffing. Describe the participants and schedule so we can discuss the appropriate format.
Can I request an interpreter for a court, authority or notary?
Yes, use the court-interpreter enquiry. Ask the specific institution what evidence it requires and send us its instructions. We check qualifications and availability for the actual language and appointment; a language page alone does not confirm a suitable assignment.
How far in advance should I request an interpreter?
Enquire as early as possible, specifying the date, time and time zone. Availability depends on language, qualifications, venue and duration. Even for an urgent enquiry, wait for confirmation before planning on an interpreter being assigned.
Can interpreting take place by video conference?
Include the proposed platform, participants and schedule in your enquiry. We discuss technical arrangements and whether the format suits your event. Official appointments must also meet the relevant institution’s requirements.
Is the enquiry free, and does it book an interpreter?
The enquiry is free and non-binding. We clarify the scope and a quote with you. The assignment is only confirmed through an agreed commission; sending an enquiry does not reserve an interpreter.
